Inside a mountain in Stockholm

I have wanted to live inside a mountain (or hill) since I was a child so White Mountain was just immediately engaging. Incredibly enough it's a modern data center in Stockholm, Sweden by architects Albert France-Lanord Architects. Photographs by Åke Eson Lindman.

White Mountain's in a former 1200 square meter anti-atomic shelter, it's an amazing location 30 meters down under the granite rocks of the Vita Berg Park in Stockholm.

The client is an internet provider and the rock shelter hosts server halls and offices.

Their references come from science fiction films like ‘Silent Running’ and from Bond films with Ken Adams set design.

How charming and really well realised. I can definitely see a Bond villain in this setting, plotting to overtake the world from these rooms inside a mountain. (via archdaily)
